We’ve posted about the meaning behind the ever-growing list of Eco Labels before (see “Eco Labels 101″), but what about when it comes to shopping the hardware store–where the current list of so-called “green” products is enough to make your head spin.

Enter editor Dan Hardin of GreenLivingOnline, who reveals the meaning behind Green Seal, EcoLogo, and our favorite — “Locally Green.” As Hardin writes: “Remember that part of the green movement is keeping an eye toward local merchandise. It’s hard to get greener than buying a product made or harvested by a neighbor.”

Think global, shop local. And check out Hardin’s piece on “Green Logo Shopping at the Hardware Store.”
