Thank you for supporting FSC lumber. The timber industry's other certification SFI allows massive clearcutting. Here in California clearcutting is ravaging our forests and is unchecked. Consumers need to know that if they buy SFI they are supporting clearcutting and conversion of natural forests into tree plantations. Clearcutting uses a variety of toxic pesticides/herbicides and signficantly reduces wildlife habitat, food sources and biodiversty. It is just bad karma to put that kind of wood in your house. Watch out also for windows and where their wood comes from. Sierra Pacific Industries wood and windows are mainly from clearcut California Forests. Let consumers know they have a choice.
Google Sierra Pacific Industries+clearcutting+california and you will learn more
